« on: January 25, 2010, 05:13:10 PM »

Hi all

Some of you may have met me in or around Bikers Division in Nasilsea, the purpose of this thread is to let you all know what its like living with a highly strung supermoto that you can only just get spares for!

I will be adding pics and more info as time allows.

Episode 1..... Buying a bike!

I was looking for a Honda XR650 for my 30th birthday to run around on and put supermoto rims on!

I tried autotrader, ebay, tradeit etc.
All the bikes I saw were 2 grans upwards and looking at another grand for the wheels I wanted.

In a fit of frustration I entered supermoto on the search page of Tradeit, and up popped the Vertemati (in bristol).
Having only read 1 review in Street Fighter Mag way back in 2002 (they liked it!) i got a lift over to Redland ish, cash in one hand helmet and gloves in the other I knew I was going to buy it!

It looked ok, price was right, so I rode it home.
I got a spare air filter 8 new oil filters and the guy posted all the manuals on to me later.

Having not rode for the best part of 2 and a half years it was GREAT!

Untill I ran out of Petrol on the way home from work the very next day!

TBC.....

For those of you that do not know.

The vertemati was considered to be the Ferrari of the supermoto world.
Beringer Front disc, 4 pot caliper
Talon hubs, Excel rims
WP suspension front and rear/ works on 570 and 600
Cassette Gear box

The 450 has 45hp, 501 50hp,570 57hp and 600 60hp
